PMC Shares Workshop: Family Court
Join NKCDC and Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts at noon on August 21st for another legal information session at the Kensington Engagement Center! This month’s topic will be navigating the family court system.
When it comes to the sensitive topic of parents and children going to court, better understanding of the court system and your rights will help prepare you for its outcomes. This program will cover three topics of Family Court: Dependency, Divorce, Child Custody, and Child Support. Dependency refers to whether the caregiver is serving as an adequate guardian for a “dependent” or child. Child Custody discusses disputes between parents and/or other caregivers over their rights to a child’s custody. Child Support provides insight into the legal responsibilities of parents in supporting their children.
Community Legal Services will also be onsite from 12:30PM-2:30PM providing free legal support to income eligible community members with issues such as criminal records, wage theft, employment discrimination, and more.
