Co-Creating a GreenPrint for Kensington

Over the coming months, NKCDC and partners will use the Kensington Engagement Center to co-create greening solutions that support community healing and transformation. Through a series of events and feedback sessions, we will develop an implementable plan for neighborhood revitalization through greening, rooted in trauma-informed and anti-displacement strategies, and driven by the community’s vision. In this light, greening is a lens and strategy to support community health and wellbeing, to foster healing, and to co-create a stronger, more connected neighborhood. 

From January through April 2026, here’s what you can expect at the Kensington Engagement Center:

• Hands-in-the-dirt workshops focused on practical greening skills, such as growing your own cilantro, exploring seeds, houseplant propagation, and more.
• Learning sessions and community conversations that center neighborhood issues and explore how we can collectively envision and build a healthy, thriving community.
• Creative and collaborative gatherings where neighbors connect and co-create an implementable greening plan for Kensington.
