Stewarding safe and clean corridors

Thanks to funding from the City of Philadelphia’s Taking Care of Business Program (TCB), NKCDC Commercial Corridor Managers and Corridor Stewards address the economic development, public safety, and management of public spaces by working along the commercial corridors.

In 2024, our team maintained more than 48 blocks in the neighborhood and worked outside five days a week, year-round, to sweep, pick up trash, clean graffiti, and builds relationships with business owners and residents. In the winter of 2024, NKCDC was awarded an expanded contract with the City of Philadelphia , expanding this work to an additional 28 residential and commercial blocks being cleaned six days a week with the support of three new corridor stewards.
